Immediately After Surgery
• Keep your head elevated at 45 degrees — sleep on 2–3 pillows.
• Apply cold compresses over the eyes for the first 48 hours: 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off.
• Blurry vision from eye ointment is normal. Do not rub your eyes.
• Light sensitivity is common in the first few days — wear sunglasses outdoors.
Eye Care
• Use prescribed eye drops or lubricating drops as directed. Dryness is very common.
• Apply prescribed ophthalmic ointment at night if instructed.
• Do not wear contact lenses for 2 weeks after surgery.
• Avoid rubbing your eyes for 4 weeks.
Activity Restrictions
• No reading, screens, or TV for the first 24–48 hours — rest your eyes.
• No driving until eye drops are discontinued and Dr. Yazid has cleared you.
• No strenuous activity or bending for 2 weeks — increases pressure in the eyes.
• Return to desk work and light activity: typically 7–10 days.
Swelling & Bruising
• Peak swelling and bruising occurs at days 2–3.
• Most patients are presentable in public by 10–14 days.
